What is the Mt Annan Mustangs summercomp?

A 10-week soccer competition played weeknights at Wandarrah Reserve Mt Annan, across the months of October, November and December.

What days are the games?

Under 5 to Under 10/11 (mixed boys and girls), and Junior boys under 12/13 to under 16/17's play games on Wednesday nights with first games from 5:15 pm and last games finishing by 9:00pm. Minis girls, Junior girls, and Over 30s women's competitions play each Thursday night, while all other Senior teams play games on Friday nights with first games from 6:45pm and last games finishing by 9:30pm. Exact game times will be known after all teams have registered, and final team counts are known.

When does the competition start?

Mini and Junior competitions kick off on Wednesday 14th October 2026.

Minis and Junior Girls only, and Over 30's women's competitions kick off on Thursday 15th October 2026.
Seniors’ competitions kick off on Friday 16th October 2026.

What’s the difference between Summer and Winter Comps?

For the under 5 and under 6/7 age group, the rules remain the same, with 4 players a side, no goal keepers, kick ins etc. following the Miniroos playing format.

For all other ages, the summercompetition is played as a Small Sided Game (SSG), on a smaller sized field, using smaller goals, with 5 players and a goalkeeper (6 a side). Games are 20min halves and there are other small rule differences including no offsides, kick ins instead of throw ins, and players from the field cannot enter the goal box at any time. How many can join my team?

You can have up to 10 players registered on a match card. There is unlimited interchange, and no more than 6 players (1 goal keeper and 5 players) can be on the field at any one time.

I am new to soccer, can I still play?

Yes, new and existing players can form a team and register to play. Competitions are run in combined age group divisions (other than Under 7). For example. The Under 8/9 division permits teams with players turning 8 and/or 9 in 2026, to form and team and compete vs each other.

As an example, if you have a team with only players who are turning 8, they will complete against teams that have players turning 8, turning 9 or combined teams of players turning 8 and 9.

All girls competitions will be formed should registration numbers allow

What divisions are there?

We are seeking team nominations for the following divisions:

A mixed and Girls only under 5/6 Minis competition.

A mixed and Girls only under 7 Minis competition.

A mixed and Girls only under 8/9 Juniors’ competition.

A mixed and Girls only under 10/11 Juniors’ competition.

A mixed and Girls only under 12/13 Juniors’ competition

A mixed and Girls only under 14/15 Juniors’ competition

A mixed and Girls only under 16/17 Juniors’ competition

An all-age men’s Senior’s competition

An all-age women’s Senior’s competition

An over 30's women's Senior's competition

An over 35’s men’s Seniors’ competition

An all-age mixed Seniors competition

What if I play with another club during the Winter Outdoor Season?

No problems, you can still join and/or enter a summercomp team in the Mustangs summer, and then continue to play with your existing Club/team in the winter competition. Teams can be formed with new and existing players from any club. It could be an existing winter comp team, a group of friends from your school, or a combination of both!

Can I join more than one team in the competition?

You sure can! Players are eligible to register with a second team, for an additional fee if certain conditions are met.

Do summercomp teams do training?

Some teams may choose to train, however most prefer to play a game once a week. The summercomp is more social in nature and lets players have fun by playing friendly games.

Are there referees?

Yes, each game is allocated a referee/game leader. Referees are provided by the Macarthur Referees Association and the Mustangs club will provide Game Leaders to the U5/6/7 Minis games.

How much does it cost?

Under 6/7 pay a fee of $100. Under 8/9 to Under 16/17 pay a fee of $120. All seniors pay $170. Fees cover the cost of Football NSW registration, referee’s costs, and ground hire. Teams will need to organise and purchase their own playing kit (see below). Additional fees apply if registering for multiple teams, but discounts will apply.

What equipment do I need?

All players MUST wear shin pads and boots to play. A playing kit (matching shirt, shorts and socks) must be arranged by each team. Jersey numbers are mandatory for the U12/13 age group through to all Seniors teams. There are local business who can produce a playing kit, for a small fee.

I'm ready to sign up, what's next?

Mustangs is accepting whole team nominations only. That is, you need to find some friends and form a team, and then the team captain or manager can submit a team nomination on behalf of the entire team. Check the What's on Page on our website to submit a team nomination.

In August 2026, we will confirm the acceptance of your teams nomination and ask your players to register. The registration of 6 players confirms your entry into the competition. If your players do not register within the registration window, your teams' nomination will be cancelled and offered to a new team on the waiting list.

All places are full, can we still submit a team?

Returning players from 2025 have been provided an oppurtunity to nominate teams before we accept new team registrations. If there are no places available for your desired age group, please email registrations@mtannanmustangs.com.au to be placed on the wait list, in the event a team does not proceed with their registration.
